Ceramics

I got to make a ceramic hand in kindergarten and then a bear in 4th grade. In high school I took ceramics for several years. Back then it was mostly functional based on western teaching and Japanese esthetics. College ceramics became more sculptural. I taught ceramics for many years from 6th to College to emeritus. The younger years we did cute stuff. Once I started teaching at a university I switched to work intertwined with Hawaiian moʻolelo (history) and oli (chant).
